This is the third book I have read in the Jim Thorn series and it was not disappointing. As with the other two books, the plot was both original and believable. Interesting in its own right, it's intriguing because it picks up from an important happening in Book 1 - First In. The fight scenes are exciting and vivid in their physicality. Once again Jim Thorn is fighting evil on our behalf. The writing is fast paced and forces one to turn the page to see whether Jim wins his fight or not. Wow! The fast-paced action and shootouts are dizzying! The "10th Revolution" and CISA of the future America are somewhat silly but the reunion with Nina and vengeance-seeking Grossman is clever. As expected, the good guys prevail despite horrific injuries to rescue each other multiple times; fortunately for the reader, the news that the sadistic arch villain is vanquished by the FSB super spy to enlivens a saccharine epilogue. I like the author's conspiracy (literary) device that medical and energy breakthroughs and inventions are squelched by greedy industrialist. The stories are short and the characters are underdeveloped, and therefore a quick read. If York had written this trilogy as a more complex novel, I could rate it 5 stars.
Love all of these books. Fresh mysteries and interesting plots. Love this hero with his fine mind and bravery to find justice.
